MindLinks #3: Metaverse, Mastodon, and Anti-Facial Recognition Fashion

The collaboration of Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey, democratizing social media, and future streetwear.

Welcome to another curation of MindLinks. I've filtered through the web to bring you five links that may spark your interest, deepen your insight, or provide inspiration.

In today's selection, we dive into the topics of social media, from the burning pile of Twitter, its new rival Mastodon, and the potential of the Metaverse. You'll also find advice on how to set up your desk at home. And there's an interesting future signal in fashion.

1. The Metaverse Is The World's Deepest Money Pit

It's probably too soon to judge how the concept of the Metaverse will turn out. I've voiced my opinion on the current state before, and so far, I didn't see any improvement. And definitely, the YouTuber Mental Outlaw has a strong opinion too. He provides information on the current state of the Metaverse, but mostly it's a funny, ranty video to watch.

2. No, Elon and Jack are not "competitors." They're collaborating.

Elon Musk's Twitter has been all the fuzz in the last couple of days. From an outsider's perspective, it appears that the richest man alive has no clue what he's doing—for sure, he's an example of the worst leadership possible. Of course, many might wonder where the platform's founder Jack Dorsey stands in this, so Dave Troy's article gives an interesting perspective.
